loyalty Just Starting Joined: 17 Aug 2007 Posts: 9 Location: LONDON	Posted: Sat Aug 18, 2007 2:30 pm    Post subject: racism in russian society and hopw it affects the russians in almost all western european countries russian are mostly unwelcome and are treated as outcast due the following reasons! 1) skinheads outrageous murder of innocent african students and other nonethnic slavic descendants 2) russian youths are thought to hate the non russians as enemies.they still belief in myths in russia.i was in russia i saw some youth attacking some black african students saying they are responsible for their calamities! i confronted one all that he said itz his dad told them! them i began to reason what about us the english! 3)murder case are also treated as hooliganism if involves non russian students! i also realised the foreign students pay from$3000 to$8000 for tution thus helping your economy! oh jesus what a hell is a place called russia! 4)most of them know little about the outside world. one south african black student also told me they asked him about the beautiness of the jungle in africa which he lives in. any well known person will tell u johannesburg and capetown or pretoria are most beautiful cities than any city in russia! russians are the most racisT people in histroy of the world!! 5) i thought i m white but always stopped by the police and question what is english doing here. but i have their visa!!! the attitude of russian are so odd ideas and views which are best for treating foreigners are show to me always! they make you feel that you do not belong here and you are not welcome. IN ALL THE PART OF THE WORLD RUSSIANS NEED TO BE EDUCATED SENT TO OOUTSIDE COUNTRIES SO THAT THEY WILL KNOW WHAT ALL ABOUT THE OUTSUIDE WALLS!

I'm not so sure about that. Nice individuals are appreciated everywhere, no matter what their background is. Although, of course many Eastern European, ex-Warsaw pact countries, have little love for Russia - the Cold War power - for stunting their general development (while the West prospered) for 45 years post WWII. However, time heals and this was 18 years ago now. Young, eastern European adults can't complain about what they never experienced. Yet, Russia is now the vitally needed energy superpower, who can throttle Eastern and Western European countries with its capacity to turn off the energy tap. So, its advisible for Europe to snuggle up to the Russian bear, not to make issue of any totalitarian machinations (eh?), or there will be no hot baths in winter! Interesting visiting St Petersburg recently. Until then, I hadn't been to a large city anywhere around the world where white people really do completely dominate the population in the streets. Back in the 50s it was common for African-Americans to protest for equal rights thus being beaten and lynched because of it. Nevertheless, I live and work in the Bronx and I haven't seen anyone being jumped and killed because of being black, white or hispanic. Do Russians really believe that people from other non-Slavic former republics are taking their jobs? If anything they are doing the work that Russians do not want to do. And why are the praising Nazism? Didn't the Nazi's almost destroyed Russia and look at Slavics as a barbaric race of people? Hitler was not fond of the Slavic race, he invaded Poland first in 1939 and then tried his best to destroy Russia. I don't understand some of these Russian youths praising Hitler and then killing Africans, Tajiks, Armenians etc...What do Russians think of Italians, French, Irish, Swiss and other people? Are they not white?

And saying "all Russians are racist", and "all Russians are unwelcome in Western countries" is not racist? Stop the fucking generalising, there are a few bad apples everywhere. If anything, the Russians have encountered more racism in other countries then vice versa... Have you even heard about how they killed Russian people in the streets in Tajikistan in the early 90s? Raped young girls... Kicked old people to death... Get your fucking facts straight, then go and defend these churkas, you ignorant person! And as far as African students... well... there were many Africans selling drugs in Moscow in the 90s... so there's still a sertain animosity. Anyway, if you come on a Way to RUSSIA site just to trash Russians, you are full of shit. Peace out.

U KNOW ABOVE ALL THE SKINHEADS AND THEIR CRIMINAL AND INHUMAN ACTIVITY IS NOT RECORDED AS CRIME BY THE RUSSIAN SOCIETY! You'll just go crazy. Just don't go back there. It will take generations for positive change, if any. It is still a Potemkin village inhabited by a primitive society that sabotages itself too often. If it can't do simple things like get citizens to stop at pedestrian crossings, what makes you think they can handle bigger issues? People deserve the government they get.

I live in a Russian community and there are many good and hard working Russians here in NYC and feel that Russia is getting worse with racism. It's coming from their mouths not rumors. Especially when I told them that I will be visiting Russia soon, they say I had nothing to worry about because I look Russian even though I'm not...I thought that statement was odd and when I questioned them they said in the last five years people have been targeted because they come from the former republics and feel that they are taking jobs away. Well, if it wasn't for immigrants the United States wouldn't exist as an industrial country...that's what happens when you have former colonies or you forcefully take land away from people...thats the price one pays. Look, the United States forcefully took land away from the Native Americans...however, their numbers are too low to do anything but believe me if there were more of them..it wouldn't be very pleasant to live here...it's just life. As far as Tajiks kicking old people and killing Russians that's a crime too and those people should be punished for their horrible acts. Russia is in a sticky mess with all their former republics wanting or breaking away from Russia. There are hard feelings on both sides with their own horror stories of killings etc...No one is saying that Russians are bad as a matter of fact the Russians that I know here are very nice and polite and willing to help you with anything. Xenophobia is not going to help Russia as a powerful country it will eventually collapse if it doesn't stamp out this little problem because it is small in comparsion for its size of country. Enough with hating Russian people or all people in that matter.

Wow what a discussion...I agree with everything that Darthvader posted-I have the same opinion. But let's see what is going on in Russia and the world. Racism is everywhere...no society likes a non indigeneous people coming in and threatening the original inhabitors exhistence...period! Here in the states the hates between a people has so much to do with control. If you want to see racism...try raising kids in Hawaii as a white haole person...In the southern states of the US so much of the troubles between blacks and whites had to do with competition of jobs...and yet the real racism in the US was the two faces that the northern states had...I want you free but I don't want to have to deal with you mentality. Here in California its La Rasa and Latinos Unidos whom want to see California as part of Mexico. And then there is place like Japan...where yes they are a very open and hospital people...but foriegners will always be gaijins! Multi culturalism isn't always a good thing. From what I here London his hugely populated with Indians and Pakistanis etc etc. I went to Marsielles and it was full of Algerians and other Muslim People...where is the cultural identity of these places...I mean are the Brits...and are they French? Hard to identitfy. But all this said the world is a smaller place theses days. Look at lebanon...used to be 85% Christian 25 years ago...not any more it's 85% muslim and war torn. With all the socio economic changes in Russia...of course there are going to be some hate crimes...it's not right and they are in excusable...but they are a factor in any society. But honestly what do we expect...I mean I know that when I am in Russia I am definitely an outsider. The thing is these behaviors and attitudes are so basic and fundamental...I mean hey if you are going to come to San Diego and surf my waves...you better show some respect to those who are already here...It's called localism! And there is no law that says we have to like everyone. But there is a law that says treat unto others as you shall have them treat unto you...and thats a golden one! Loyalty....you are just like everyone else...you don't like people because you don't agree with thier views...you fault others because you do not like the way they behave. The reality is this...if foriegners do not like what happens in russia, or what russians do...then don't go to russia...and don't invite them to where you are. If it's not your sand box...then you have no right to play in it unless you are invited to. And if it is your sand baox and you want other kids to play in it with you...then you have to accept them and be friends. And all sandboxes need to have rules...or they well disappear and nobody will be able to play
