Moreover, I do not consider it a demonstration of issues, but a cultural propaganda - "be like us - it's cool" in its most vulgar manner.

it's one big party parade..mixed with social, religious, etc...issues

I did not understand it. What is mixed with what and what is result?

Even if they try to pose some group of people as a bunch of repulsive weirdos? Just image 'teachers parade' with same appearance ( of both sex and various ages... )

Bottom line is 'having sex'. If they are 'mommie and daddie' of any orientation this is implied. And conception of homosexual familiy also is. They don't say 'nnn in preschool is raised by mommy and her sister'. Feel the difference.

Women who appear to be hetereosexual!
The Dyke March the day before the Gay Parade here in Toronto, the pictures I've seen do not show stereotypical hetereosexual looking women. The women tend to look not so pretty-pretty, lots of makeup, girly clothing, etc

Sex just makes folks uncomfortable.
So many taboos, but it's a billion dollar industry!

It's okay Vox...I get the picture...your homophobic...so big deal just say it...doesn't make you evil or bad..but just don't skirt around the issue...say, "I don't like gays"...you would feel so much better...

Sex makes some folks uncomfortable but we are not talking about sex. It's a parade...I've never seen people having sex on a parade float..I've seen half naked people, but no sex..unless Toronto has a Sex Parade..

Looking at naked people, I would generally expect sex to pop into someone's thoughts, perhaps briefly, but making an appearance none the less.

Aren't we talking about sex? That seems to be what irks people, gay sexual relations.

yes, we were in the beginning talking about sex...then it turned into parades...geez, what's the link between parades and gays? LOL...I think many people think that gays participate in them..which of course is not the case. I agee with you about sex as a topic..people do feel funny because it could stem from religion values, how one was raised not to talk about sex, abuse etc...

I would hazard a guess, simply because of gay parades around the world, some of those participants dress flashily, aren't afraid to show enthusiasm, so attention is focused on that, and next thing you know, it becomes a stereotype, gays are flashers, who love parades. Lame isn't it.

no not all gays are flashers...I don't mind gay people at all and have plenty of friends/associates who are gay...but sometimes the gay scene is over the top. When I was young and just went into the marines...my girlfriend at the time wasn't 21...but there was this gay bar down the street from where we lived and she like to go dancing there...andway..I am fresh out of boot camp and went inside with her and her girlfriends...too funny...well and fun too. So gay friendly? Hmmm it's like this...I don't need to go out of my way to promote gayness...and nor should gays...it is what it is and nothing more...same sex people attracted to one another. I think we should have a hetrosexual parade then...There is nothing any more special about being gay...and that is the problem...most gays think there is. But hey have the parades and whatever else....just not my scene

Everyday is a heterosexual parade Surf....you feel comfortable holding a girls hand down the street..smooching with her on a park bench...people pass by and think, "how cute"..gays do that...it's wham bam...stares, name calling, etc...the parade is a celebration of the Stonewall riots in 1969..when gays fought back the police for two days in NYC...at that time..gay bars where owned by the Mafia...not that many gays owned their own bars then...Police use to come in and the lights would go on...if anyone was caught dancing (same sex) were arrested on the spot. They would also line the patrons up and then verbally abuse them..telling them what's your name...does your mom know you are a faggot..what's her telephone number...etc...they would also physically assault them too...it was not a good time..however, they fought the police one night and it turned into a riot for two days...Nevertheless, it's a celebration of being who we are...there are the floats with the half naked people...you do have the screaming queens..which get on my nerves...however, you do have legit people marching in these parades such as mayors, councils members, lawyers, religious people and even now the cops march too...lol..Nevertheless when or where there is a gay pride for one day...and one is not comfortable..then go to the other side of town, stay in etc...NYC there is a parade for everyone...so it is no big deal for New Yorkers str8 or gay to go to different parades...As a matter of fact you see families that are str8 and would not miss the gay Pride Parade in the World...me I couldn't care less...have fun Cool
