Hey y'all,
So im planning to go trans-sib, hopping on and off. from SPB to mongolia, then down to china.
getting my Russian visa in Gdansk, (Poland) now, planning to enter Russia with 30 day tourist visa at start of october, from kiev.
The questions i have with trans-sib folk are....i plan to apply for my chinese visa in moscow,at chinese consulate/embassy....anyone have any experiance of this?
And again, planning to get my mongolian visa in irkusk, there is a consulate there, again anyone know much about this?
I have british-australian nationality, and im looking for a short visa to mongolia and a standard visa to china, im hoping with both they wont be too expensive and will only take a few days.
be nice to hear peoples experiance and advice with this
cheers
Owen

An Australian friend of mine got his Chinese visa in Moscow recently. It was a straightforward process - all he had to do was fill out the application form and give a couple of photos. No other documents were needed. But I think it took 5 days processing and I'm not sure if there's a faster option.

He got his Mongolian visa in Moscow as well and it was also very straightforward (and quicker). I don't imagine it would be any more difficult in Irkutsk.
