My girlfriend was traveling back to Russia from the United States, she's a Russian Citizen. Her flight left out of JFK - New York, Sept 5 at 8p to Frankfurt, Germany. She was connecting to an Aeroflot flight to Sverdlosk, Russia from Germany. Before she left Houston - IAH to JFK, I noticed her Passport or Visa had expired on 9/4/07. I didn't think anything of it at the time, because I didn't think there would be any problem with leaving the country. I forgot all about the connecting flight in Germany. I told her once she had arrived in Russia to give me a call to let me know she made it. It's now Sept 12, and I hadn't heard from her since Sept 5th (her departure). Do you think Germany's Customs and Immigration might be holding her until she obtains a temporary updated passport/visa from Russia? The Russian Consulate is open Mon-Fri from 9a-6p and passport processing takes about 72hrs. If she arrived in Germany 9/6 (Thursday), that leaves Friday (9/7), Monday (9/10), and Tuesday (9/11) to obtain an updated passport to board a flight to Russia and ultimately arriving in Russia on 9/12. Does this seem like it might the situation she's facing and why I haven't heard from her?

If she has a Russian passport she's a citizen and doesn't need a visa. So her visa hasn't expired.

And if her passport expired 9/4/07 that was back in April. day/month/ year. They would never have let her on the plane in New York with an expired passport

You may not have heard from her since she left but her lack of communication is for some other reason.

It could be that she is so busy with family and friends that she hasn't called you as of yet. How long have you dated her if you don't mind me asking? Plus she's only 20 years old according to one of your posts and to me that's still a young lady who is probably wrapped up with her friends at the moment. Didn't she leave you with a telephone number or address? Is she coming back to the States? I'm nosey sorry Very Happy

she offered to leave me with a number, but I was preoccupied with driving and concentrating on the road at the time and I just told her to email it to me when she arrived back in Russia. Date for about a month and a half. Andyes, she said she would come back to the states NEXT year - July '08.
