Hi,
I'm in Russia now and I have a question that I didn't have when I was home...
What does it happen if I visit a lot of places and the back of my migration card gets full of stamps?
Where do I have to put the others?

They will give you an extra paper with extra stamps, or use the backside.

No problem.

I would like to know whether there is somebody in Russia that checks all the migration cards that are handed in at the border when leaving the country. Or is the kind of 'check' that is done when leaving the country all that is done with the migration card?

Or are they just archiving all the migration cards?

Regards,
Chris

My guess is that the migration cards aren't specifically checked after you leave Russia. I think - guess - that when they scan your passport - you get recorded as entering or leaving. I suspect the paper trail of registration is only used or consulted when they need to investigate someone. Think of the paperwork! They are very fond of it for its own sake and yet I don't see them paying much attention to all the details inside. Maybe one day the border control will be integrated with the registration system in one huge computer network but I've registered in so many out of the way places, I really can't see them keying all this information into any computer ever.
