Hi Arko. The university has a good reputation in general. I have no idea how it is regarded for that particular subject.
I assume you'll be staying in one of the dormitories in that area? You can live quite cheaply there - a lot of the students do. It just depends what sort of lifestyle you want. Basic minimum costs for food would be about $50 per week. Public transport is cheap - you shouldn't spend more than $1 per day on that. You can look through the Moscow restaurants and nightlife sections of this website to get an idea of prices for those things. Anything I've forgotten? |

Ok so how much would rent be then...? And arco how long are you going for? I've been researching the web...
Oops-ok rent is covered...well then at $200 a month for food...and say $60 on transpo...then this should give you a pretty good idea...night life all that...$600-$700 a month should cover you for sure. And seeing how the average salary is lower than that...well you should be ok |

| Yeah, it's hard to say. Just depends how you want to live. Excluding dormitory accommodation (which is essentially free for them) I know students who have a budget of 5000R per month (about $200) and they get by. I used to spend about $1500 per month (plus rent). For other people $1500 would be too low. |

Yeah and here $1500 is kind of average for a student...well if rent was covered. When I was thinking of moving to St Pete were talking perhaps total budget for 3 being $5000.00 a month...well to live according to my standards. Anyways...coming from Bangladesh which is very very poor...well you should know as lots of aussies got to that region but I would imagine this being super expensive for someone from there. Well that is a huge spread...5,000 rubles to $1500 plus |

| Legally, no, you won't be able to work. You could possibly get some cash in hand work if there's something you could teach or tutor. $1000 for 6 months is cutting it fine. I'd recommend a bit more than that. Moscow has a habit of draining your money in unexpected ways so it's better to have something in reserve. |

thanks for ur answer greg222. As i m asking u all too many questions, it would irritate u. Sorry for that but what can i do i m too too much worried at the same time curious to know all information before i go Moscow. What type of unexpected ways would drain my money can explain one of your experience ! . But one thing i can ensure u that i wont go night club or dance club because i know i m poor. |

Arko, rather than worry about which airport, think in terms of price and arrival time.
Both airports are in Moscow and you are not getting connecting flights so which one doesn't really matter. As a personal preference I try to fly into Domodedevo, it has a direct express rail link to the city, and is a newer and easier terminal to navigate.
Can you email the institute for directions? |
