Here's a cool pic, Stephen. The Kiev Metro Bridge. In my opinion, the most modern part of the Great City. Well, it WAS built in the 50s or 60s, but still...

Once again, I apologise if the image is too big. It's the best one I could find.

That means literary "to smoke" in Russian, don't know if that is what you were trying to say, but...

We call that a smoking pipe. To smoke is kurac.

Surfey Rolling Eyes No offence, but who are you trying to fool? that would mean you spent 21 years (at least) of your life fighting terrorists, in foreign lands. What are you some kind of CIA James Bond? How old are you then?

Looks like some of the towns I've seen in Poland, and, a little bit, like those in Czechoslovakia, when I went there on vacation with my grandfather, when I was a kid.

He's 35. A 14 year old can fire a gun. They do it all the time in Gaza, and Iraq. Rolling Eyes

Well, I was going to go and see Ekaterina in Moscow, but I bought another boat instead, so I guess it'll have to wait till maybe next year. But you have fun. And borrow your daddy's camera while you're there, would you. I'd like to see some actual pictures from all these places you claim you've been to. Laughing

If you say so. But that's not the idea one would have gotten from your post when you returned from Kazan.

Oh yeah...the toilets..not enough water to flush everything down in one flush...the tanks are too small..lol Laughing Also there is not the American version of a roll of toilet paper..you know the one that has a hole in it so it fits on the roller? The toilet paper was in a tight roll with no hole..so you either had to leave it on the floor ..gross...or on a sink..if water gets on it it's like a sponge you can't use it again. Also, the mosquitos are the size of baby bats...only kidding..however, they are big in Kazan..and the hotel windows had no screens so if you open the window the mosquitos and flies...yes flies at this time of the year are sleeping in your room with you. One more time I have to say the air quality is the worst..I was all choked up the minute I walked out on to the street. Shocked
