Hi saint_chrisburg, thanks for all the great information! I'm waiting to see what happens now, as she tells me she can get a tourist visa by the end of Oct. I'm not sure how that's possible, but I'm waiting to see what happens.
Regards,
Wes |

have faith it is possible to get the visa that fast...remember the American Visa comes from well the US consulate...so we do tend to operate a little more expediently |

If I told people in the US to "sod off" I think most of them would wonder what on earth sod had to do with anything. Anyway, I eventually tried to just ignore it, although it always bothered me, regardless.
Ok, West, so my final advice is to try and do what surfguy is telling you to do: have her come on a tourist visa and get married in the U.S. During her visa application process, she should lie through her teeth about the reason for her visit and absolutely make NO REFERENCE to you!!!! If she says that she's going in order to meet a friend, red flags will be popping off everywhere and she'll 100% be denied. If she's going in order to see the lively American nature and experience American cities, then fine.
Once she's here, go to Vegas and get hitched. I say Vegas because you can get married there immediately, without wait, whereas a number of states have certain requirements about the amount of time you have to wait between applying for a marriage license and when you can actually get married. Check the state laws first, in case a Vegas marriage stricks you as tacky. Just be careful, as since she's on a tourist visa, time is definitely an issue.
Once you two are married, and she's still here LEGALLY on her tourist visa (do not let her overstay it, otherwise you're screwed) then do as surfguy says and head off to your local immigration office and get the ball rolling. I feel that this is really the easiest way, since it involves a lot less time and headache compared to getting married in Russia or trying for a fiancee visa. Of course, if she's denied a tourist visa, then you'll have to try one of those options. |

People will say, to your face and behind your back, things about Russian mail-order brides, "oh she used him to come to America", etc. Nobody seems to believes that a Russian woman could love an American man; oh no, it's always assumed she's using him.
I was 21 with my 19 year old Russian wife when we came to America, and boy the shit I had to hear from people the entire time we were together in the U.S.! Give me a break. |
You know I have never heard anyone talk about Russian brides like that here in KY. |

| Ok yes I definitely caught flack for having a russian gf and heard all the mail order bride comments...very inncensitive. I guess because they are advertised so much. Ok as far as getting married...yes do it in the states...tourist visa...vegas...justice of peace...what ever...but it will be the easiest way. |

No way. You can't marry there in US if she is there on tourists visa.
Do K1 spouse visa and marry in US, or marry somewhere else and then K3(?) visa. |

ok read these forums:
https://www.visapro.com/Message-Board/showthread.php?t=9904
well you can always play it safe and do the K1 visa...hell have her come here on a 1 year visa...then surely you will live together and then know if she is the one...then have her go back and apply for the K1 Fiance Visa. And you could goto russia and live there for a while until her visa is approved and then come back to live happily ever after. She will be more accepted here then you will be there |
