I was watching a small program on the Passionate Eye on our government station about Mr Putin. It was only 2 hours but the information they just briefly touched on was making my head spin! Mr Putin is quite the individual, he has risen steadily. This one woman interviewed said his climb to power was quite brilliant.

It was mentioned that Boris Yeltsin had helped those men, the oligarchs become so very, very rich. Two are in exile and the one is in jail in Russia still.

He rules with an iron fist Mr Putin. Another interviewee compared him to a Tsar.

Better then a "dermocracy" any day. You know how a man from the new "For Putin!" coalition in Russia said about Western Liberal Democracy, on a talkshow on Russian TV, it was with Vladimir Soloviev, he is a famous talkshow host on NTV, has two shows right now, this guy described the democratic leaders as follows:

Quote:
Shaking lips, sweaty palms, and nothing getting done!

Hmmm, life sounds hard over in Russia, perhaps more so than here.
Communism had it's faults too but generally people had food to eat, and shelter. This democracy that was adopted by Russia, is it very much like North America or have they taken it even further, a more extreme form?

I have to admire the Russian people, because when they realized what the government was doing, they took to the streets and started showing their anger and displeasure. Trouble is, people get killed during demonstrations.

Probably one of his two daughters, Masha and Katya (now 19, and 21, I think)

His expression reminds me a bit of Yuri's, though I have to say Mr Putin's pout is much more pronounced.

Well, Vladimir Vladimirovich has, once again, proven why I respect him:

You go, mr. President! Russia is with you!

Russia needs a Putin...that's for sure...but we all already know he is going to get what he wants. ANd most people in the US either aren't interested or want to see Russia prevail.
