Andyb597,
Your situation is rather unique and I think you need to get a complete list of what the registration guys are asking for and then if necessary, you will need to cross the border properly and get the customs declaration. In all probability there are special rules for ukrainian registered cars - CIS and all that. I don't know more - sorry.

Hello everyone,
I am trying to rent an apartment in Moscow for 17th to 23rd May.
I have looked at lots of apartments on your site and every one has loads of "pending" boxes in the availability calendar but very few show booked.
So how do you know what is actually available?

Thank you

"Good evening.
I would like to know the advantage(s) and disadvantage(s) of a group visa SUPPORT in comparison with an individual visa SUPPORT.
We are 2 people travelling together, and now we are in doubt: should we
apply for 2 individual visa SUPPORTs or 1 group visa SUPPORT ?

Thank you for yr kind attention

I was under the impression that Russian engagements were typically quite long? But from what I read in the above post, they are typically quite short. Which is it? Does anyone know for sure?

The prices on WayToRussia are completely accurate and there are no hidden fees. We make a special point of searching out the best deals in Moscow. Prices for St Petersburg apartments vary by season, but this is always explained below the advertised prices.

It was an interesting event.

".....event occurred at 0h 14m 28s UT 30 June 1908 near the Stony Tunguska River in Mid-Siberia, at latitude 60° 53' 09" N, longitude 101° 53' 40" E. On seismographs, it recorded like a 12.5 megaton air burst at 8.5 km altitude, and its effects were strongly felt over 2150 km2, one of which was the mass blowing over of trees. Since meteorite fragments were not found, it is supposed that this was something like a comet head, composed of ice and dust, that collided with the earth. Events of this kind would leave no geological record, so we have no idea how common they are....."

Moscow is overpriced mostly in terms of buying property here. Actual average rate of buying 1 sq m of apartment is about 5-6 thousands USD. That is considering, that this apartment is not in the center and requires capital investments. As a result of it prices for hotels and apartment rentals are also high. In all other terms, Moscow is much cheaper than any Europian city (not speaking about the most expensive fancy restaurants like Pushkin, etc.)

We are in Irkutsk on thursday 28th and friday 29th of august. We would like to visit the circus there.

Is there anybody who knows anything if the circus is open on these dates. If so, how can we buy tickets or how to reserve a ticket?

This defines the main traits of character which are typical of Russians. Mutual help, hospitality, inventiveness, bravery and inconsistency and so on...And this is dear for all of us, this is what Russia means for us.

I've been living in Russia for 10 months, and I agree 100%. Of course for most Russians, life is in the city, and the vast wild places are more fairy-tale than reality. I have come to understand Russians essentially as villagers who moved to the city and brought the customs and values of country life with them. Only in St. Petersburg did I feel otherwise. There the people seem more "sophisticated" and typical Russian character is less noticeable.

Hi there!

The hotel I use is the Metro Hotel in Petrozavodak. That city is about 9 hours north of Moscow by train.

I was just there again for my 4th time the end of March through the beginning of April.

Registration of your Visa is very important as you can be detained when you are trying to leave Russia and can be subject to fines.

Way To Russia gives that service to it's customers through it's Moscow offices, I believe although I have never used that service.

As I said, I have been going to Petrozavodak in Karellia.

If you are going to be staying at a hotel, they will take care of the Visa registration for you. My unique situation (or perhaps not so unique) is that I stay with my Girlfriend at her apartment while I am in Russia.

There is a way to reigster your visa if you are staying at a private residence but I have heard it is very difficult and the Visa application process is delayed by a month and a half for the paperwork.

So if you are going to stay at a hotel, then you should not have a problem.

If you are staing privately, you can still get a Visa using Way To Russia, whom I use all the time because they email me the Visa Invitation.

Now, if you are going to be staying with a private individual, I suggest you ask them to find a hotel who will register your visa for you.

Way to Russia, I think charges about 750 Rubles for their registration service. The hotel I have used several times performs that service for 150 Roubles.
_________________
Petrozavodsk, nestled on the shore of Onega Lake is my favorite place in Russia!

Put nil, none, n/a or xxxxx in the field. That will make it fairly obvious that there is no middle name.

Good evening.
I would like to know the advantage(s) and disadvantage(s) of a group visa in comparison with an individual visa.
We are 2 people travelling together, and now we are in doubt: should we
apply for 2 individual visas or 1 group visa ?
Thank you for yr kind attention

It is interesting on hearing peoples' opinions and questions, because it shows the mood of each other attitude. There is many questions that were directed to Russians, but not the other way around. Despite the moderator's view of gibberish. I think it is cool to see others view.

Are the opinion's based on truth? Of course not, but it is someone's perception and that is why we have dialogs to remove the mistruths from the world. Is that why we also travel to see things first hand and experience what reality is. It is also hilarious to see what our nation is perceived in another country's view.

I think this is a good discussion as long its intention is not mean spirited, but to invoke opinion.
_________________
If it is too good to be true, then it is too good to be true.

During the past six days I have seen numerous reports on Sky Sports about the "British Invasion of Moscow" that will take place in two weeks time. As many as 50,000 English football fans are expected to travel to Moscow for the Champions League Final match between Manchester United and Chelsea that will be played on May 21st.

All the news I have seen so far has been from the British perspective. I'd be interested to know more about what has been in the Russian news about this historic all-England Champions League Final. I'd be curious to know if the residents of Moscow are being advised to stay away from the area surrounding the Luzhniki Stadium on the day of the match?

Well I think you were thinking more about the vowel sound than the consonants. The stressed "o" sound is a little different than the English "o" sound. In English "o" kinda closes in the the end like it gets turned off quickly, o. Or like it fell down a big hole. In Russian stressed "o" does the opposite more like oah. It opens rather than closes. Not quite chtah, but more chtoah. Nu chtoah?! Remember though that unstressed "o" does sound just like ah, and when people speak naturally things don't always get the proper stress, so you might be right to say that sometimes you hear chtah, but try chtoah you will feel very russian.

Football fans of the two top English Football Clubs Chelsea and Manchester Utd. received the good news that they won't be required to have a visa if they want to travel to Moscow in two weeks to watch their clubs play for the Championship of Europe.

The move follows communication between Uefa president Michel Platini and the Russia president Vladimir Putin amid fears that the backlog of processing thousands of visas could lead to some fans missing the final.

It is like saying that Spiderman is more famous in France than Gérard Depardieu...

yes, i do agree. here movies are not classified like FICTION, DRAMA or ACTION. Every 007 movie is a hit here doesn't matter if its ridiculous to watch. But very few hollywood based movies succeed. special movies like Harry potter series also will be HIT.

Quote:

both Internet network, GPS navigation are originally military programs.

yes, just to frighten the outside world they are made. like japenese bombing in world war.

Quote:

It is not WWII time anymore. US bombs even dropped from from 40 000 feet at night explode on the right point because guided by satellites.

war at night is against to ethics. some rules of war as our sacred books preach

1) war during dawn and dusk should be prohibited
2) war zone must not include any civilian properties & animals
3) war must be declared, no sudden appearance
4) both should have weapons
5) at the end of war, the ruler who wons should take of the families of the killed ones of both sides.

what is the need to fight at night timings, may be because they got frightened with the guerrillas. any GPS equipment can be jammed easily.

Quote:

Not only avionics but radar and structure as well. Just see what a 100% french fighter like the Rafale is able to do

may be, but no warfare can match russian fighters, for electronic warfare Israel is the best.
