Hi guys! Smile
Quick question or two for ya.
I'm currently in St Petersburg and when i received my visa registration, it is written for one year (in accordance with my visa dates) in the Russian Federation. The woman who performed the registration for me told me that I would not need to re-register in each city, since she had done the registration for the entire Federation. This goes contrary to things i've read on the web however. But if you look at my visa registration it does say...until May of 2005 in the RF. (no city mentioned)
My questions are:

1. Do i have to register again if i go to Moscow or some other city? Or is the woman correct?
2. Do i still have to leave the country at the six month mark?

Many thanks,
Katya

Well, the immigration officials will not make any problems with this registration, but cops MAY ask you why you haven't registered your visa. But then, how do they know you stayed in this other city (say, Moscow), for longer than 3 working days? Maybe you just arrived yesterday.... Smile See what I mean? So, in a way the woman is right.
You will still need to leave though not to stay longer than 6 months in one go in Russia. A good option is to have a nice weekend somewhere in Baltics and then come back. I don't think you will need to re-register again, if the stamp in your passport says it's until May 2005.
