Well, after 2.5 years, we have decided to get married. I'm Canadian and she is from Chita, Siberia. Tons of money spent already meeting four times a year. We plan to get married in May 2008 in Moscow and then I'll apply for her immigration to Canada afterwards. It takes about six months for Canada to process all documents and we are expected to be together late 2008 or early 2009. The problem is we have no clue of making this happen because of the seemingly confusing Russian rules.

If you are in Calgary, we will go for a beer. I will buy. I have found heaven here. A good steak house that serves good cold beer and pleasant( not beautiful, but pleasant) waitresses. I was in heaven when I received 8 oz Prime Rib that you can cut with a fork for $15.

TO is probably better for your new bride. There is a huge Russian section there and I think two websites dedicated to Russian/Ukrainian life in TO. I was in Toronto about 3 months ago. The hotel I stuck at was at wilson and finch. It was a shit hole

Snowangel, the divorce rate is extremely high between Russian and Americans. Many oif the ladies are trained by agencies to seduce and abandon. The latest trick is to marriage, come over here, claim spousal abuse, then divorce and stay in the USA.

I hear the usual crap that Russian men are no good or drink too much and so on, but the fact is these men are generally great guys and they are the brothers and fathers of these ladies, yet they say these men are no good.

It is bullshit. They want to have better life, not more suitable husband. AS American, you are not familiar with the laws in this country are you?
You have a process time before the person is a permanent resident, but not in Canada. It is almost instant. I have seen divorces here in almost a week. Since people have been blowing smoke up their ass on how beautiful they are, they think they are better the rest. If you look in your own community, you will see just as attractive ladies.

I know the community well and I can tell you that majority of marriages are pizdets.

You know what marriages are successful? THe ones that they spend much time together aka the ones who actually lived in Russia for a long period of time.
