St Petersburg to Berlin, avoiding Belarus (advice?)

Hi, I'm hoping to travel this July-September from Singapore back to the UK by train. I want to visit St. Petersburg and then get the train to Berlin via Vilnius and Warsaw (the route given in the Way to Russia international trains section, but in reverse), however because I'll be travelling for so long i won't really have anywhere to get my tickets posted to 45 days before departure (were i to book everything online). For these routes, would it be a problem to just buy train tickets at the ticket office? Would this affect the price? Also, if that is not possible/inadvisable, where could I pick up these tickets, or could I get them posted to one of the hostels i book along the way? Thanks for your help, and any further advice on this route would be very much appreciated Devin
