My wife has been told by Voronezh OVIR that the 30 day period it takes for getting a private visa invitation does not apply to British citizens.... for us its a minimum of 90 days due to the political arguements between Russia and the UK.... aparently a directive from Moscow.
I am currently just starting my 3rd month out of Russia due to the 90 day in - 90 day out law on business visas. I had planned to cancel that business visa and get a working one, So we applied begining of December 2007 and were finally given approval from Moscow the last week in January and the documents returned to Voronezh. But Voronezh OVIR have refused to authorise it stating that its because I am a British citizen and they don't want to grant any UK citizen such a visa.
Anyone else faced the same discrimination?
