I have a quick question. On my invitation to Russia that i purchased from this site, for the dates that i'll be traveling, i didn't put the actual dates that i'll be leaving and returning. For instance, i'm actually leaving on December 17, 2008, but on the invitation i put December 13, 2008, because i thought it would be best to give myself a few extra days in case of some delay. And on my return date, i did the same thing. Instead of putting January 7, 2009, which is the actual date that i'll be leaving, i put January 10, 2009.

My question is, when applying for the Russian visa, will this create a problem? I heard that i should always give myself some extra days on the dates in case there are any problems or delays, but i wasn't totally sure if i should have done that for my invitation, or for my visa. Can anyone help me with this?

You should use the same dates on your visa invitation letter - it won't matter if you show up a few days later or leave a few days early. You'd *probably* be ok if you sent your visa support letter with dates outside of your visa request, but if it were me, I'd clarify it and add a comment on the visa application saying that your dates had changed. Or, better, simply request the visa for the dates that match your invitation letter.

Thanks so much danbrew for your quick reply. I greatly appreciate it. So basically, it's okay for me to put down the exact same dates on my visa form that are on my invitation letter, as long as i enter and leave Russia anytime within that specified time frame. Makes a lot of sense. This is my first time not only traveling to Russia, but traveling abroad.

I have one more question. Can you tell me what exactly are the vaccination requirements in order to enter Russia? Also, who do i present the vaccination documents to?

Yes.

In addition, vaccinations are not required for tourst or business visas - you will require an HIV test for a student or work visa.
