I'm trying to figure out bus and train times (and stations) from moscow to vladimir. the more i read on-line the more confused I am- different schedules and outdated info. Local trains to vladimir run from Kursk and express from Yaraslov stations? are mini-buses found only at Kursk, where, and what bus numbers? also, i see train stops for Vladimir and Vladimir Pass...which stop is Vladimir proper? are seats sold out quickly- do i have to buy a ticket in advance or can i pick it up the same day? are the trains as infrequent/late as schedules seem to be showing? if anyone can help- or point me to an UPDATED thread about this, i'd appreciate it!

Long distance trains for which Vladimir is an interim stop run from both; commuter trains and express commuter trains run from Kurskiy (tickets for non-express commuters are sold only at the station, not by agencies)
Buses are from the Kurskiy and can be found... ahem.. 'at the train station square'.

Vladimir Pass is 'official' railway name for Vladimir, like 'Свердловск' for Екатеринбург.

I used to go to Vladimir by buses, departing from the Kursk railway station, the bus stop is in the area between Kursk railway station and Atrium Shopping Center. It's Kurskaya Metro station (circle line as far as i remember). Anyway truly easy to find.
The buses go quite frequently and you just have to make sure it's a bus going to Vladimir (saying one word Vladimir with raising intonation is enough Smile and tail on Smile

Thanks Avis. How long do the buses take (and I assume you mean the mini buses, not municipal buses)?

Hi Smile

1) The Bus in Vladimir, goes from Kursk station

, at the station "Kursk Ring" / "Курская-кольцевая" (a brown line) in process of filling, 6-30 till 20-00. Time in a way about 2 hours. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday it is a lot of people.

Yes, I'd take either express commuter train ( green/blue in that table above) or long distance train also from Kurski station. Not that they run more freauqntly, but like in
http://poezda.net/ru/route_timetable?st_from=2000000&st_to=2060340&forDate=19-03-2009
spend about half an hour less on the way.
