First of all thumbs up for the very nice website. I get straight on the topic. I am a Greek man and i intend to marry a Russian lady that lives in Saint Petersburg. Since my girlfriend is currently unemployed, it seems impossible to get a visa to Greece as she was told from the russian embassy. Even if she granted a tourist visa, in Greece you are not eligible to marry without a working permission first as far as i know. And Greece is not issuing any spouse visas either. Therefore we decided to get marry in Saint Petersburg. The documents i was requested are: Birth Certificate, stamped with "Apostile Stamp" Certificate that i am single stamped with "Apostile Stamp" and.............. The application for the conclusion of marriage: I, _________________________________ (your full name) confirm the mutual voluntary consent to the conclusion of marriage with a citizen_____________________________( my full name) and absence of the circumstances interfering the conclusion of marriage,specified in article 14 of the Family Codes of the Russian Federation. I would like to inform about myself further information: 1.Full name 2.Birth date 3.Place of the birth 4.Citizenship 5.Nationality (it is filled at will of the applicant) 6.Residence 7.The document proving the identity (the name of the document, series, number, date and a place of delivery) (Passport) The date of drawing up of the application So A) what is this "Application conclusion of marriage" ?? is it a simple declaration ? (Δηλωση του νομου 101 - As we say in Greece) B) What is the purpose of having this paper "Notarized" (stamped by a notary) when it should already be stamped with the Apostile stamp ? Seems to me that both stamps just verify the validity of the document. Please, i need all the help i can get and your suggestions on the matter in general are very precious. Sorry if this was not posted on the right section, I found this forum the most appealable one for my matter. Thank You

Sorry I didn't notice it before. I think this conclusion of marriage is a paper giving consent to your girlfriend to submit marriage papers for "booking". To get married, you have to 'book' a date. And when you book, you have to submit papers required. In my case, I was there when we submitted papers, so we didn't need papers saying I'm consenting her to submit all this, but if I were absent at the time of submission, I would have needed it for her to submit all the papers. I don't know about notary and apostille thing. I didn't need any notary stuff. I got mine apostille'd and I was ok. But it depends on countries and whether your country is signatory of Hague conference (I think that's what it was). That, you should have your girlfriend ask ZAGs what to do.
