Hello!

I submitted a 3 day visa application to the New York Consulate and have not received my visa back! I leave this thursday. It arrived and was signed for by them last week - Monday, so I am quite worried. I included a paid certified mail usps envelope - and when I track it, it shows it hasn't been mailed yet. I have tried to call them but there is no way to reach a person - it's just an answering machine. Another number they supplied is disconnected. I did email just now. (It is a week later - Monday)

Any advice for me anyone??? I am really worried and frustrated there is no way to call the consulate! A lot of money is on the line here! $250 for 3 day visa processing, not including my flight and hotel reservations!!!

Ouch! I don't know where you live, but it may be necessary to go the consulate in person... If that's just not practical, I would contact my airline and hotel to ask about the logistics of rescheduling.

Because I am cowardly, I always use visa processing companies (and even though I live about 60 miles from the consulate, it's better for me to pay the company fees than to spend the hours and miles to make 2 trips there...)

I hope another poster will have better advice. Please post back, about how things go! It will be useful for anyone else who gets into a similar jam.

Best of luck... maybe they'll send your passport out today...

Hmmm...

It may be that the information on the NYC consulte is out of date. Washington no longer accepts visa applications by mail, only in person or by third party.

ssack,

Tomorrow is (was) supposed to be your departure day. When you have time, please tell us what happened! I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
