Hello,

I traveled to Izhevsk Russia for the first time in December of 08, but i got REALLY sick out there. I'm not sure if it was because of the water, or not being used to the weather. It was a very bad case of tonsillitis/strep. So bad in fact, even when i got back to the U.S i still suffered with it for months. I never had tonsillitis at any point in my life before i went to Russia. Anway, i'm planning my second trip to Russia, but i REALLY don't want to get sick with that again. It was probably the most agonizing thing i've ever experienced thus far in my life. Not being able to eat, or drink, or even talk. Just miserable. So my question is, what can i do to avoid getting sick like this again? Is there anything a doctor can inject me with so i can avoid tonsillitis/strep before it happens?

Thanks

I think it is your individual reaction to the environment and climate zone change. When I traveled to USA I got an allergic reaction. So you should consult your doctor first.
P.S. I live in Izhevsk, feel ok even now, when it has been -25 degrees (C) outside during a month...
