Hi everybody, I am looking for some help/information. I am trvaelling to Kazan in June and from there I want to go around by car (hire) for about a week. Not to long, i know, but hey I can't make long trips anyway because of work/own business. I have read and have been around quit a while. Here's the question:

If I would like to go trekking in mountains for a day or three (even one day hikes is fine by me) what area should I focus on, considering the fact of my short stay and considering that I may not be in the perfect place (next time I will visit South-Ural Mountains Altay). Do I concentrate to the North, South, East or West.

I myself am looking to go to places such as old Bulgar on the river banks and maybe down to Samara. On the other hand I also have some good fibrations going towards the East (Naberezhnye)

i hope anybody who knows the places can give me some good advice.
Thanks in advance

(PS: Kazan I will stay for 2 days because it's a 1005 years old)

I like to go trekking in mountains. The real trekking starts and the backpacks need to be strapped on. Hike from the 71st Quarter to the Chuval Ridge (height 1000m.). Total distance 17km. Overnight stay in base camp.
