I too would enjoy having some Russian food recipes that are reasonably simple. My family has talked about having a "russian food night" once a week or so after my new (adopted) daughter is here in the US. I think that it is more in our interest to share her rich cultural heritage than to try to diminish it. I think it would be fun! So how 'bout it, people? Send in some good Russian favorites for us! Dennis, look again . I left a link for hundreds of recipes.
I think Uday has one for Campbell soup. Although Campbell is Scottish, get drunk on Vodka(instead of Scotch) before hand then it becomes Russian.

I recommend 2 xook books. My favorite and the recipes are in English is
Please to the Table by Anya von Bremzen and John Welchman. Many recipes from Russia as well as the former soviet republic countries. I can't say that most of the recipes are easy but if you cook they should not be too difficult. Last night I made cabbage soup and I don't follow recipes 100%. That is part of the fun. I also made the dough for vareneki which are Ukrainian dumplings Tonight I will prepare the potato cheese filling and finisdh preparation. These are more time consuming. The other cook book I recently purchased at the Taste of Russia festival in Sept. in Amherst is A Tastwe of Russia byDarra Goldstein. She was there to sign copies. I think it will be very nicefor Olga to have some familiar Russian foods. I bet she can help cook too and that would give her a special skill to share.
