I'M TRYING TO FIND MY GRANDMOTHER'S FAMILY. SHE WAS LIVING IN RUSTOV WHEN SHE WAS TAKEN AWAY TO WORK AT A CAMP DURING THE HOLOCAUST. HER LAST NAME IS HOLEN BUT I WAS WONDERING IF THAT IS THE ACTUALLY SPELLING OR IS THAT THE AMERICANIZED VERSION. I HAVE THE ADDRESS THAT SHE LAST LIVED AT...I NEED SOME HELP. ANY SUGGESTIONS OF ANY PLACE I COULD GO FOR MORE INFO?
THANK YOU

Probably Rostov on don. Holen is strange name. Holen is a different name and I do not recognize it as Russian. You are going to hate what I about to say, but it was true. My jewish people changed their name, because there was still hatred to them dispite the war. It was easier for Germans to immigate than Jews to many countries (including my country of Canada). I could be wrong though. Usually Russian names end ova, vich and I have not seen len.
