Well, I guess this is where I would post this.

Anyway, I know someone who is going to go to Russia for a year and wanted to know what the legal drinking age in Russia is.

I looked all over the internet and couldn't find a thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

drinking age? smoking age? minimum age for [insert random thing here] doesnt exist in Russia...

They will sell everything to everyone, and let you go into clubs even if you are a minor and if not you can always pay.

thats utter crap, maybe Moscow and Leningrad are the exceptions because they are tourist made cities, but travel into real russia and you will get anything at any age at a negotiable price.

Moscow is NOT Russia in the eyes of the non Muscovites.
it is a extremely expensive tourist atraction, get a taxi in 4elyabinsk, Ufa, Ekaterinburg and they will bring you as far as you want inside the city for a maximum of 100 rubles, try that in Moscow! ha!

why would he bother about the legal drinking age? young people in europe don't and i'm quite sure russians don't either.

if he's going for a year... i bet he'd be old enough (say 18?) to go to a shop and buy himself some beer?
if they refuse to let him take the booze along, he's just in bad luck and has to try get it somewhere else.
