I have read two different pieces of information regarding the completion of a customs declaration form. One is that you do not need to if you are bringing less than $3,500 and the other is $10,000.
Can anyone confirm which is correct
Also on the same topic, do you have to decalre a mobile phone as being a means of communication on the form
Many thanks in advance |

I don't think you have anything to worry about unless you are bringing in, or taking out large sums of money. When I arrived at Shermetyevo-2 airport in Moscow, I was planning to declare what I had just to be safe. The "red" line to declare was closed, and I asked a worker where I should go to declare (in Russian of course). He waved me through the "green" line, and then I was out of the terminal. Leaving the country was not difficult (except waiting in lines). My visa had been registered, and had not yet expired, and I had the portion of my migration card that you present to customs upon departure. If you have less than $3000 US with you, then go through the green line. Your cell phone should be ok to bring as well. You can wear it around your neck like the "New Russian" women do. |

| You shouldn't declare amounts less than $3000 US (or equivalent) -- go through green corridor. If you have more, just fill in the customs form and go through the "red" corridor. |
