Mogs, Anya is specifically referring to Xela who as I was just notified, was previously banned from this forum in the past, and is one very close step to permanent deletion like Winston. As for Cyndy and Polska..........well, calling the kettle black is more than adequate to describe their comments so to speak. Especially in their comments towards Xela who, by the way, jumped into this.

So don't worry about it. They are not referring to you.

I guess soone or later someone's going to come up with their own version, so here is the 'official' one. Ok, here goes. I think the members of WTR ought to know what happened down here.

A certain coward registered under a username 'e_basher', which goes without saying, was made specifically to attack e.

Mods were seriously not amused!

Because WTR does not tolerate outright personal attacks, we deleted e_basher's post, notified e via PM about this, and when e_basher sees his posts deleted, he'll be warned that such posts will not be allowed on WTR

e_basher tried to redeem his/herself by posting under a new login 'gotthemessage'. I guess that one post is still around. Thought we tamed him. right.

We did a quick check and found out that this little troll Xela and gotthemessage and e_basher are the same person. Or a friend/family member who is too much like him. Hahaha. Ha.

Seriously, seriously not amused. I don't get it why such obvious warnings/editing/censoring doesn't get any of the message to this e basher. I should have edited them instead of deleting the whole post I guess... that way we can keep track of who gets 'beeped' more often than not.

There is such thing as PM and polite feedback.

So we are supposed to allow racists to flame each other. Ok point taken.

I am splitting this tread later this afternoon after lunch and putting some of the posts in Feedback. Lets see who agrees/disagrees with you. This thread is for Mogs, you don't have to ruin it.

e--I have sent you a couple of PMs regarding posting on WTR some time ago. I suggest you re-read them again.

cyndy--i don't know why you suddenly got angry so take a break and come back later. I hope you'll take back those words about us being prejudiced. Sometimes I think I should be like Alice to leave without a word and never come back to babysit WTR again. If you see something that offended you or about the way we are doing our job, please raise the flag, but be gentle! Smile

The way Xela was posting could be bad for his reputation and more importantly, insulting to some members of this board. Especially when they are in other parts of the forum except Not Relevant. We deleted some racist flames from Xela/e_basher. That was all. We left other posts as they were because they made relevant and interesting points. Xela was not going to be banned. It's not fair comparing Xela to Winston because you all know the Winston story is that no matter what you do he'll keep insisting on posting rubbish on WTR.

p.s. The mods have asked for a 'recycle' folder visible to us so that deleted posts have a chance of being restored. However looks like Dmitry is still enjoying that summer villa...

p.p.s the only person having discussions in the USSR is rewan. He gives a lot of issues a fresh perspective, don't you think?

Xela "returned" as Siexela and later Xela to troll and flame Casey, Renwan, and everyone else while being rather cordial to me, he later turned back to his original "target" Laughing

Wasn't comparing Xela to Winston, but I was told by the other mod that Xela was up for permanent banning and deletion similar to Winston . And thats where the comparison came from. He, just like Winston returned after being banned before. He just tried (and couldn't) play fair and nice.

You can view these "prejudicial, politically bull shit correct" views at these points and not to mention that you technically agreed to them when you created your user name way back when and post here.

e_basher/igotthemessage/Siexela/Xela, constanly violated these rules after being warned numerous times and had his posts and usernames edited and deleted to enforce this point. He/she/it should've thought of these things before it did what it did.

I and apparently everyone else here rather have the mods enforce these "prejudicial, politically bull shit correct views" as well and efficiently as they do as opposed to the insanity that this site once was.

Polska: Ditto for yourself Polska, but not gonna get into it with you especially since you choose to be ignorant of the reality and situation at hand regarding what is happening. You can think and believe and whatever you'd like. The truth is "posted everywhere" so to speak. Try reading it for a change.

An option to ignore posters: unnecessary. A majority of the posters, usually ignore all of the politics, pissing, and flaming going on here and post away anyway. So its just a matter of self-control and discipline.

The same could be said for a folder regarding deleted/edited posts? Why should they [messages] be given a second chance if they violated the clearly posted rules in the first place? The posters should've thought of these things before they posted such messages and thus breaking the rules. We should be making new folders for more relevant and useful things.

Sometimes mods make mistakes. ( Exclamation

) when moving or deleting posts. If you had the chance to see all those mod control buttons on this forum, you might think it un-userfriendly! So it could be a good idea to have something like a recycle bin. That's the first purpose.

Second reason... when we click 'delete' on a post, that post is gone forever... any information from that post cannot be restored, including IP information and who have posted what. Having them somewhere on the database helps keep track of notorious posters. BTW the affirmo bot made a little comback spamming my PM box! I don't know if it was possible to check the IP because... alas! We had deleted all the affirmo bot posts and had nothing to refer to!

And of course... it's a 'mods and admins only' folder.

and e, gimme a break and stop biting polska!

However I do like the idea for the 'ignore' button. While one post may not offend some, the same post would offend others. Mods can only delete the obvious flame baits and douse some flame wars. Upgrading the forum is out of my scope, unfortunately.

a permanent ban for Xela is not what we intend. it would be a last resort, as it was with Wwu666. Xela is welcome, just like everyone, as long as he/she tries to behave in a more or less civilized way.

personally i don't care if people flame one another on the forum. it's just that it messes the place up so much... if you guys just start flaming in 'Not Relevant' instead of other places i would be delighted Very Happy

okay, I was in a bad mood last night, I hate the heat, thus reacted more harshly than I should of. I apologize for that. I know you guys do your best to keep this forum functioning as well as you can. I know I would not want the mostly tedious and thankless job!

While Xela should not have started his or her beginning on WTR by purposely bashing E, if that in fact is true, Xela in my opinion is not as vindictive, prejudice etc. as a few here might think. So I am glad that Rick recognizes this. It is my nature to stand up for people who I think are getting raw deals. I always go for the underdog. That is why I toasted Mogs and also reacted in defense of Xela. Enough said. I just wanmted to be a little clearer.

I knew you were in one of your 'moods'. We all get grumpy sometimes so I tried not to yell back at you.

Xela is capable of posting something sensible, but for every sensible post, there's a 'trolly' one which we delete. What we deleted was some really flame-war-mongering stuff that would have made Winston proud. It seemed to have worked to some extent when xela started posting some good and thought-provoking messages. However, there is still that history of multiple logins, some created for the sole purpose of personal attacks etc. that mods have to react quickly to and keep a close eye on xela whenever she is on WTR.

Ok enough discussing Xela. She can come back and post on WTR anytime she wants, provided that she complies witht he rules.

Paul--thanks for the article. I think we do need more netiquette articles around.

I'd like to refer everyone to http://www.albion.com/netiquette/, something I found earlier today on google. As soon as I finish work I would be taking a look at it. Enjoy!
