There's a bug in the profile options that causes an error that will crash your WTR forum account if you choose that option. Login is not possible after that anymore on your account. So far Casey and Mediashark have been the only known victims, but this can easily happen to all of us.

In profile settings, if you try to change the ''Board style" from subSilver to FI Black, when you return to the forum you will get an error message. Login into your account is not possible anymore after that.

You can only make a new account then, after removing your WTR cookies.

As for those who have heard the rumour that there's a hacker out there who has got me (mediashark) and El Casey's accounts, don't believe it.

This is simply a forum bug that has appeared probably because the template file in question had been corrupted or missing. Or a database error not too different than the one we get now and then.

We have managed to reproduce the bug with test accounts and so far all have returned the same results.

We're trying to recover the accounts that have been lost to this error. If you have managed to log in again after receiving this error, you may try contacting WayToRussia and see if he can restore your account.

I hadn't heard this rumor, but my account was damn sure not corrupted by a hacker. It was done by yours truly who, in keeping with his inquisitive nature, decided to play around with settings better left alone.

Rick PM'd me today, and he is looking into a fix. Supposedly Dmitri has contacted him as well, regarding the issue. Here's to hoping we can screw up our accounts with impunity from now on! Laughing

The lost accounts of Casey, jacob and Mediashark should be alive again now. Dmitri repaired them. The cause of the bug, the second choice for the 'board style', is eliminated.
