I am planning a trip to Russia, and want to take my $90 handheld
GPS for personal security reasons, like I have to the rest of the
world.

I JUST noticed by chance that us embassy says it is prohibited
to take electronics equipment to Russia including cell phone and
GPS, which just sounds backwards as hell.

In fact, I noticed a company that for $40 will rent you a combination
GPS/cell phone.

Does anybody know whether my cell phone and GPS will be
confiscated upon customs arrival, or do they overlook these
things or not look to hard?
