I am familiar with the Russian tradition of welcoming people with bread and salt. I've read about it countless times - I know for certain that it's done onboard the International Space Station when a new crew arrives, as it was done on MIR.
But - what I am wondering is, how is the tradition actually done? What are the components of the tradition?
It would be nice to understand how it works, as I expect to be a part of it someday soon |
