I will be taking the Trans Siberian in March. Can anyone tell me what to expect at this time of the year? Will it still be several degrees below zero and a lot of snow on the groung, or is this the time that the snow starts to melt?

Also, what is there to do at this time of the year if I go to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal?

Thanks.

Hi,
March is spring time in European part of Russia - the snow is metling and the sun is shining. Meanwhile, there will be still snow in Siberia and ice at lake Baikal.
March is interesting time at Baikal lake - you can see famous transparent ice of the lake.
