| I am glad the law didn't pass. The USA and its over zealous laws seem to be catching on none the less. |

| Drinking in public is one of the nice quirks that make Russian cities what they are... almost like visiting the wild west |

So it would be a great way for our police to earn some money
And this law will develop an infrastructure of places where you can relax and drink beer and watch football of course
But i don't like this ban however |

a month ago i read the following statistics
1/3 of all 16 year old boys in i believe it was the city of Perm, drinks 3 liters of beer a day..
Although i love to open a beerbottle at the counter and drink while walking
i think this law will be for the better.
seen too many young mothers taking their babies fro a stroll at noon, zipping a 1/2 liter can. I suspect there are even custom made buggies with handy bottle holder.
seen to many men ( and an occasional woman) in the early moring at the busstop, drinking a way last nights headache. utrom gornitsa ( the morning of a miner) this is called. I do not recommend it.
beer never has been regarded as an alcoholic beverage. rather like lemonade. To change that a bit I think isn't bad. |

It should be banned
Drunken people, specially teenagers are usually very annoying, they cause a lot of troubles, fights and accidents, very often with fatal consequences.
It is very annoying when you are at a nice public place and next to you there is a bunch of guys or girls drinking, speaking loudly and cursing.
Nothing good can be expected from the permission to drink freely in the street. |

How does banning beer-drinking in public prevent drunk teenagers roaming the streets? They could just drink all their booze at home and then go outside afterwards. They'll still be wasted. The only benefit of the ban is to cut down on the number of beer bottles thrown everywhere. Drunk people don't really take much time to think about broken beer bottles all over or litter.
I don't know what to think about it. I really don't see how it can be enforced. Cops can't be everywhere. There's a massive smoking ban happening in Canada. |

Beer is not consider to be alcoholic substance by law therefore you can buy like lemonade.
Russian Beer is sh*t. I mean complete sh*t. I tried the premium beer Siberia Gold I think. Awful stuff. Many others, yuck.
American or Canadian equalalent to Russia beer is Big Bear. I have tried from around the world and I love Russia, but Russian beer is fermented diabetic dogs piss. |

You are not right about beer completely.
First its consider an achololic substance so you can't buy it everywhere but of course every teenager has it's own ways to get beer
Second, you haven't tasted good russian beer. I've heard from lots of people that american beer is an awful crap If you know which russian beer is good you would enjoy it...
Btw, advertisement of beer on TV is not allowed untill 22-00 pm. |

American Small Micro brews are awesome. Whenever I go to USA, I drink the local brewery stuff. Not the Miller, Coors , Budweiser stuff
Russians have not developed any decent beer yet. I have drank beer from almost 60-70 countries. Russian beer is the worst . It generally made to be high in alcohol, but uses cheap ingredients to get this level. You have very little variety in styles
But your industry is young and it will mature.
I love to start a niche brew pub in SPB and brew top quality ales and lagers. I think this would make good money. |

russian beer to me is cheap and fine!
starii melnik, stepan razin, nevskoe,
i don't think the 'anti-beer lobby' is directed to protect students in their twenties hanging around in parks drinking halfliters, as well to protect 12/13 year old children that drink the plastic 1.5 bottles in their breaks and pass out during class. |

I suppose nothing can protect such children...
this law intended to increase infrastructure of pubs, then to free streets in the citites from empty bottles and to protect parks from drunk people...
Now I suppose that such ban is very useful |
