I haven't posted on here for well over a year now, but reguarly pop in to read posts, and am now back for some advice again please! Smile

I met a Russian girl on holiday in Cyprus (her parents live there now half a year or so) and we've been in touch ever since. I visited her home of Niznhy Novgorod, which was fascinating, and we've since met again in Prague, and Cyprus again, where i stayed with her parents.

After 2 and a half years, we now know we really want to be together, and are prepared to give it a go! It will probably be easier to do so in the UK for starters, as I'll earn more money here and language isn't a barrier so much.

Question is, is it easier/better to get married abroad then get her a visa to follow me? or get a Spouse visa, then marry here within the 6 months?

Does anyone have experience of this at all, or able to give any advice. It will probably take til the summer next year to save money for everything.
But I know there is alot of planning to do before then!

Thanks in advance for any help.

It would be better for her to get a spouse visa, so then she can experience life in the UK for a couple of months before getting married.

You can get all the information you need for that type of visa from the home office and I am quite sure they can issue the visa.

Thanks, for that...you're probably right!

Am I right in thinking, that even if we married within 2 months of her arrival, she still wouldn't be able to work here for 6 months from her original entry to the UK?

Just trying to think what stuff she might be able to do for 6 months, as she's not the type of girl to sit around doing nothing all day.

She's a trainee lawyer back in Russia, is there anyway this can be applied for a job in England at all does anyone know?

Again, thanks for any help...

cheers.
