For some reason, I have agreed to host an (early) thanksgiving dinner for about a dozen friends this Friday in St Pete - my Russian friends assure me we can buy a turkey "at a food market" but I have never seen any trace of a turkey in this city - without wanting to appear disloyal to my Russian friends' confidence in sourcing me the bird, does anyone have any clue if you can get turkeys in Russia?

(this is a serious question by the way!)

Thanks

According to this they had turkeys at Stockmann in Moscow last Thanksgiving:

And there's a Stockmann in St Petersburg so that's probably worth a shot. Contact details are here:

Happy to report I am now the proud owner of two frozen turkeys from Stockmans......
Not the cheapest shop in the world, but if you are an American craving peanut butter and jelly sandwiches its the place for you.
