|

Hello.
First, this is a very helpful and useful site. I have read a lot about the visa registration procedure once the tourist gets to Russia. I am still a little confused though. Hopefully, by explaining my situation I can understand what is required and other people in similar situations can benefit.
My plan is to use an agency to get the tourist voucher and confirmation I then take these documents and the other relevant documents to the Russian Embassy in London and get a visa.
Now, once I am in Russia I need to register. I am going to be staying with my Russian girlfriend who is currently in London. Hence, I am travelling on a tourist visa but I will not be staying in hotels since she has a flat in Moscow. But she is in London now - she cannot invite me.
According to the blog (it wont let me post the URL) "Also, from January 2007 registering your visa is the sole responsibility of your accommodating party (hotel or landlord) and should be done by them, not by you and not by the agency, which issued your visa support."
However, the blog then says: "or just ask your travel agency to do it for you. A travel agency might ask for more money though to compensate their time for queuing etc. (usually $20-$50 US). If you order your visa support with our advertisers, they have partner offices in major Russian cities that would be able to assist you with registration."
This seems to say that although the agency should not register your visa they can do so if asked.
1. So I want to confirm that the agency that waytorussia.net uses (visatorussia.com) is able to register my visa. All I need to do is go to their offices in #29, Leninsky Prospect, office 100 (first floor), pay them, and they register me.
2. Since I will be travelling in late December or early January do you know their opening dates over this period?
Thanks - much appreciated! |
