Hi!

What is the best way to get from Sheremetyevo (Intl) to Domodedovo? And how much time does it take? I tried the Web, but it sounds kind of vague. Maybe some of you traveled that route.

Thank you.

I have done this by bus to Rechnoy Vokzal, metro to Pavelyetskaya, and train to Domodedovo. This takes some time, but is very inexpensive and easy as long as you don't have too much luggage. You can check your luggage for many flights at the Pavelyetskaya Vokzal. I did this and having a long layover, went by metro back into the city for several hours before catching the train to Domodedovo.

Thank you. I researched it a little bit more and it sounds like there's a bus that goes from Sher-vo to Domodedovo. It said it takes between 2 to 3 hours. Is this a correct info?

Ok, thank you. So my best shot will be to take the Metro? Is that correct? Camarks suggested above:

"by bus to Rechnoy Vokzal, metro to Pavelyetskaya, and train to Domodedovo..."

Is this an accurate route? What are other ways to get there besides catching a taxi.

Thank you.

Yes, the best way is as suggested above. The other way (for second half )is to travel by metro to Domodedovskays station, and take a bus to Domodedovo airport ( but traffic in the evening can be bad ). The first part of route has virtually no alternatives.

The commuter train to Domodedovo leaves from the Paveletskaya Metro station. The brown/green line. The express trip takes just under an hour.

Ok, I am all confused now. I looked at the map of the Metro and from Sheremetyevo (Rechnoy Vokzal) I can go by Metro all the way to Domodedovskaya station (the green line).

Am I on the right track? Do I then take a bus from Domodedovskaya to the Domodedovo airport?

No.

Domodedevo airport is way way out of town, it's even farther out than Sheremyetovo. Well afar of any Metro station. There may be a Metro station of that name but that is not where the airport is.

The express train to Domodedovo leaves from Paveletskaya Metro, something like once an hour. I forgot how much it costs, I think 150 rubles.

Getting from Sherry to DME is a problem. If the connecting bus service was canceled as the previous poster said, there is no good efficient way to make the transfer. It would be from SVO to Rechnoy Vokzal by bus, then Metro to Paveletskaya, then express train to DME. I would guess that trip alone would take 3 or 4 hours.

Possibly the only way to make a connection between the two airports in 3 to 4 hours would be to hop a taxi for the whole shebang. And that's definately gonna cost you. But better than missing the flight.

You might try putting up a post on Expat.ru. Most of those people live here and many of them travel a lot. Maybe they have a better idea of how to make the airport transfer. Try the travel folder.

I think I finally got it. I know nothing about Moscow. Never lived there, just visited it once or twice. Thank you for the help.

It has no official number ( even on maps it is signed Б/Н - без номера, no number ). The next questing is how to find the stop of numberless bus when you get out of Domodedovskaya station?
What I found on Domodedovo.ru -
у м.Домодедовская: выйти из последнего вагона из центра, в подземном переходе повернуть направо и подняться из перехода на поверхность по правой лестнице. Остановка находится рядом с этим выходом.
Use the exit near last car of train heading from center, after you leave metro territory ( exit turnsiles ), in underpass turn right,
then go up by stairs on right. Minibus stop is located there.

OK, so what you are saying is there's a way to get to the Domodedovo airport from the Domodedovskaya metro station? How long does it take?
