|
|
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, I couldn't find exactly where it should be.
I was wondering, if it were possible for an Amerikan or other foreigner to establish residence in Russia? And would citizenship be given to such, if Amerikan citizenship was denounced?
Thanks, and I hope to get a reply.

The same procedures for all ( excepts CIS citizens ) - 1) temp residence permit based on work permit, marriage or some special cases like parents/children with Russian citizenship.
2) after some 1 year it can be changed to "вид на жительство" ( permanent residence permit if i translated it right ).
3) and after 5 years of living with perm. permit one can apply to citizenship ( after passing Russian language exam and renouncing existing citizenship)

Have no idea. Thousands of former USSR cisizens from CIS countries do it every year. |

Someone who cannot even spell the world "American" should stay home.
Citizenship process is a long one. You cannot just go to Russia and stay there. There are certain laws governing permanent residence and citizenship. For an American, the easiest one would probably be marriage. |

| You probably meant renounced, not denouced. I'm curious, though, what is driving the decision to give up your current citizenship and adopt a new homeland? |

I think it's, "Word" not world. Nice try. It's actually the way it's used in the German language, which I am also currently studying.
I'm aware of this, and that's why I ask on this forum, to find that out.
danbrew,
Yes, that's what I meant. Just looking for change, and celebrate my freedom to move, and enjoy other parts of the world. Same reason other people migrate sometimes. |

seems like you're mostly enjoying your private part (which is also one of many other parts of the world). |
