Exit and Entry to Russia while on Temporary Residence Permit

prod21 Just Starting Joined: 14 Jan 2007 Posts: 3	Posted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 5:29 am    Post subject: Exit and Entry to Russia while on Temporary Residence Permit I hope that someone can help me on this, because airport passport controls and consulates didn't give me a sure answer. I am an EU citizen, married with a russian citizen and have got a russian Temporary Residence permit stamp on my passport. I exited Russia 2 months ago because I am studying in my home country and I want to re-enter Russia in December and stay for 1 month. Do I need a visa? And if I don't need a visa, will I have a problem when I apply next year for a Permanent residence permit, because I don't live most of the time in Russia? I mean, is it necessary to stay in Russia all this period (while I am on Temporary residence permit) or am I allowed to exit and re-enter Russia without visa at any time? Any information and help will be important and much appreciated.

So you were supposed to have a prolonged visa for a temporary resident. If you have not, it seems that you have to apply for a "виза временно проживающего лица" without quota limit as married to Russian citizen. Nothing more specific though. Anyway "temp residence permit" != visa, you need to have a valid visa to enter RF. What type of visa did you enter Russia on?

What type of visa did you enter Russia on? Thank you for your answer and the useful links. When I went to Russia to apply for temp.residence permit I had a private visa (from private invitation). And then after 6-7 months I got the temp.residence permit. Now I am out of Russia and want to re-enter, and I thought that maybe I could do it without visa, but now it seems that I need one.
