I went to Krymsk, in early spring to meet who was to become my wife and had the most wonderful 5 week holiday of my life. Not only did I find the people very hospitable and friendly, the cost of living was so low that I was like a millionaire there. We had a fully furnished apartment, gas, telephone and electricity all paid for and it cost me $US 120 - my wife said that I as robbed, it should have been for three months! We went to the bazzar each day for food and spent about $US2 per day for food. But that wasn't the real attraction there - it was simply the friendly people and the totally different culture (I'm a Kiwi). Sure the roads were a total mess, there was poverty, but there was tremedous giving from the people also. Russia is a country of extremes - extremely large, extremely hot or extremely cold, extremely poor or extremely rich, - the comparisons go on.

Go there with a totally open mind - don't judge or try to make comparisons - just enjoy the place!
