I don't know about math, but I already knew that Russians are way up there in education. They are incredibly smart people. Communism sure produced some very intelligent people. Most of my friends there are doctors, dentists, and teachers. A couple engineers, and architects, as well. |

Ha, that's funny, Russki. Thanks for the good laugh. "The smartest people in Europe"...I would love to read up on the literature that produced that factoid you reference.
I know one thing for sure, Russians are definitely not a modest crowd |

Ya thats sure the CCCP produced world famous people like Yuri gagrin and many space walkers. basically from space age, russia is the first in the world to sent a satellite, manned spacecraft and finally a space station. they are the first to design supersonic civil aircraft which made its maiden flight 3months before Concorde of France. Russia's miriya is still the largest cargo aircraft in the world. The orbiter Buran has got some finest ability which no space shuttle in the world posses.
even recently from a study its declared that russian kids of age <10 are the best literate in the world. A warm salute to soviets, their space tech is unimaginable.
I would say Russia has to develop in some key areas to survive from external threats, these are coward, ability to collapse a empire, engaging in war to spread arms race, use of nukes to bend someone, use of sexual tortures to convert innocents to terrorists. spying. they should recruit more 007's to get their work done. these are the modest ways as practiced by others. |

Yeah, I gathered that too. Many Chinese think that Jews are the smartest people on earth.
| Quote: | | “The Chinese people think that the Jews are smart and rich, so we should learn from them,” says the American-educated Song. “Even me, I think they are really smart, maybe the smartest people on earth.” |

...and you are referring to who BS? It's funny because the US space shuttle made it's debut flight 20 years before Buran...and we had like 4 or 5 shuttles...Buran is the only one the USSR had...and gee it looks just like ours. But yes the Soviets are huge in the whole Space Program...and Baykanour is amazing and so is/was the Soviet developements. The world owes a lot to the USSR in terms of advancing space flight. Also the Soviets were the first to design and fly a delta wing fighter aircraft. |

I'm not referring to anyone regarding the space. I agree US Space shuttle is the first of its kind. But if you take CCCP made its first manned spacecraft, space station. As you told buran is not the only spaceshuttle russia had. they had 3, but after 1991 they are dismantled and scrapped off. space shuttle is not the agenda in cccp. you say that space shuttle looks like yours, then i would say france's concorde looks like soviet concordeskii. but i won't say if there is a copyright. because its the design concept of supersonic aircraft. The original concordeskii is designed from miG-21 the queen of skies. but its well known Europe did a bad work to create a bad name for concordeskii in airshow.
here soviet designs are done only by soviet's alone. where as if you see the world's best aircraft like Airbus are designed in many parts of the world including the HAL of INDIA. |

| Quote: | | About five percent of the people that have been launched have died doing so (because astronauts often launch more than once). As of November 2004, 439 individuals have flown on spaceflights: Russia/Soviet Union (96), USA (277), others (66). Twenty-two have died while in a spacecraft: three on Apollo 1, one on Soyuz 1, one on X-15-3, three on Soyuz 11, seven on Challenger, and seven on Columbia. By space program, 18 NASA astronauts (4.1%) and four Russian cosmonauts (0.9% of all the people launched) died while in a spacecraft. |

| Bc it's an irrelevant link because it's based on Space mortality rates. I am talking about overall aviation...so That link is solely on Space mishaps and does not include aviation mishap statistics...which may or may not result in deaths. Also Aviation mishaps cannot be based solely on Countries in which the accident occured...but rather you have to distinguish between pilot error and mechanical failure. Which then if we are to make it a national statistic...then we need to take into account nationality of pilot...and place of product manufacture too include the manufacturing of the aircraft component and or the assembly of the aircraft. So a lot of factors to think about. Also aviation is divided into two categories...civilian and military. A mishap is still a mishap...regardless of how many deaths occured. Also we have to factor in the number of aircraft in service and the number of flight hours and the number of flights. So many factors and variables to consider. And it is common knoweledge in the aviation community that Russia has suffered some of the worse statistics across the board. And most russians know it. I became interested in all of this especially durring the summer of 2006 when between May and Agust when there were three civilian aircrashes...one in the Ukraine where many many children died...that flight originated or was destined for St Pete...pretty sad |

The whole russia what im talking about is up to 1990 itself. After that its no more and may be live in future. until that its the king of many things.
| Quote: | | the US space shuttle made it's debut flight 20 years before Buran... |
are u sure surf its 20years, i have to check. columbia shuttle is up by 1982 and challenger destroyed in 87. as i told shuttle is not the agenda in soviet list. but to soviet shuttle design is designing a pencil for them. they are the real inventors of technology.
Even the moon launch by NASA is fake, but there is no fake from CCCP. like that all the russian aircrafts have russian made engines. but if you take 90% US made aircraft like boeing they are popular only because of rolls royce. without rolls royce Beoing is no where. also even in that AIRBUS is more superior.
I can compare BOEING is like Ford car and Airbus is like Benz. but in INDIA, ford is being sold with much discount. But there is no technology behind any ford vehicles. All technology what boeing uses today are from Airbus.
May be the mishaps are high, this is because when you experiment with something you should always expect both success and failure. its the failure that makes you more experienced.
If you take the old sputnik launch, they have done it which no body can even think of. Also another one they have launched it in less than a 1.25months. I can challenge, even with todays technological advancement once can't launch satellites like that. one can often read about space adventures in a Sci-fi movie or comic books or in harry potter. but for soviet they believed in reality than in imagination. |

No, Soviet people just believed in hard work, dedication, and giving it all for our country first, and THEN for our own irrelevant selves. |
