Hi,
I am planning to drive across Russia this Summer and wondering if there is English language data available for Garmin GPS?
Not have a GPS yet, planning to buy a NUVI 360... |

You need to consult a website run by a mr geoff kingsmill - from memory - he travelled vlad - nordkapp in norway through russia on gps. garmin has a partner in russia but their information is in russian. use the garmin ebsite to find out who the partner is.

TomTom already had maps for Eastern Europe including European Russia two years ago. The maps were not always very accurate, but it helped a lot! Maybe they are better now!
I don't know about Garmin.
Regards,

Navicom has "Road of Russia", which is really more of the mapping solution for the area around Moscow than it is for Russia. It is an OK product - i've used it before.
NAVICOM
7, Rechnikov Street, Building 17, Floor 1
Moscow 115407
Russia
Contact: Zhukov Sergei
Tel: +7 (095) 786-6506
Fax: +7 (095) 116-7511
Email: svz@navicom.ru
1st product: "Roads of Russia" - the detailed maps of the regions of Russia including Moscow, St. Petersburg and others. The metropolitan areas are based on a 1:10000 scale with the rest of the region in a 1:200000 scale. The maps include small suburban cities, all roads and even trails, lakes and rivers, churches, power lines and railroads. 2nd product: "Roads of Russia with Routing" - the detailed map of Moscow & Moscow region. The metropolitan area is based on a 1:10 000 scale, count seats on a 1:25 000 scale, with the rest of the region in a 1:200 000 scale. The map include small suburban cities, all roads and even trails, railroads, lakes and rivers. Points of interest ? Fuel, Shops, Food & Drink, Lodging etc. You can find points by name, address, category and route to them. |

Thanks to you all.
Dittrich,
I am not sure what you mean by*
"You need to consult a website run by a mr geoff kingsmill"
I have tried Google without success.
Chrisrein, Danbrew,
Thank you too, I guess if I can not find Garmin data, I have to use one of these. |

| Garmin does not produce maps for Russia. But Navicom (a third-party unrelated to Garmin) does. |
