Hi
I am trying to call my boyfriend who is in Moscow with a UK mobile. I have no idea what to try as I have tried endless combinations, both with my phone-card and without, of access code + pin number + country code + area code plus mobile number and nothing works. Any advice?
Gratefully... |

| You should just need to dial the usual number with the international code for the UK: +44----------. There should be 10 digits after the '+44'. UK mobile numbers have a '0' at the start, right? If so, leave it off. |

Hi
Thanks for your reply... however, sadly I tried this and it doesn't work. I also tried dialing 007 (country code) plus 495 (code for Moscow) plus mobile number, both with and without the "0", and in various combinations of 00 44 (0) 7xxx xxxxxx etc. I either get a recorded message saying number cannot be connected or is not valid or I get the wrong number, ie a Russian woman who probably doesn't understand English even though she (not surprisingly) gets that it's a wrong number.
Texting seems to work so I don't understand.
Still a mystery, all suggestions gratefully received. JPI |

The mobile should have global roaming enabled by the service provider, then it can be called from anywhere - at a rather large cost.
If it is a UK phone with roaming on, and you are in the UK, just dial the number normally, without codes. |

| Thanks for your help.... I resorted to this (obvious) solution eventually, though am still stuck as to how to dial from land-line; having said that, we've spent so much money on calls now it really won't make much difference... so all good. Thanks again. |
