necugu, Not to worry! See

I haven't yet done the post-office procedure; I get my visa invitation letter from a travel company (in the name of a local hotel), and go to an associated office for registration.

By the way, how did you get your invitation letter? If it was from a travel agency, they can probably help you with registration.

Registering at a post-office seems to be manageable, plenty of people who post here have done it. Maybe the most difficult part is that you need the help of the OWNER of the place you are staying -- this will be the landlord, if your friend rents. Ask your friend to set this up in advance, and be ready to pay the landlord some money for the time it takes.

The friend you will be staying with should be able to help get you through this process.
