Hello everyone

My wife and I are leaving the UK for a trip to Rostov on Don next week, and we have just heard that there is a luggage limit at the borders of 35 kg per person and there after you pay per Kilo.

My question is:- Is this correct?

Air - The airline have their limits in kg
Bus tour - Maybe the bus tour company has a limit in kg so all the luggage can fit in the bus.
Car - How much personal stuff you can squeeze in your car? 1,000 kgs?
There is no 35kg limit if you cross the russian border in a car.

I am going by car, and yes I probably could fit a 1000Kg's, as I am taking a trailer, hence the question.
I should have been more clear, we are taking the kid's bikes etc some items for the apartment etc as well as the usual clothes. So it depends what they consider luggage.
But as you seem quite certain that there is no 35 Kg limit it is a relief and thanks very much for answering.

Kevin,
Don't take it the wrong way!
I was just trying to inject a note of humour into my reply!
I've seen Finns with camper vans going in and out of Russia - no probs.
As long as its all personal stuff and couldn't be regarded as commercial for resale then I doubt the customs would be bothered.
Since I'm guessing you're married to a local girl, let her do the talking if they ask questions. In 2005 I brought in a whole bunch of stuff for the dacha in an estate car.
There is another poster on the forum called LeeLee who is/was living down Rostov-on-Don way. Check out his posts. he always struck me as being a reasonable practical individual full of uselful advice.
Rostov-on-Don by Car+Trailer! I'm jealous! have a good trip.
