Hey, first time traveller. I'm heading to St. Petersburg for 4 months. I have allergies and am wondering if anyone might know how readily available an allergy medication like reactine might be? Or, if I should encounter any problems by taking a bunch of pills over? Any advice would be helpful and very much appreciated. Thanks.

Not responding to your medicine question... but what is your visa situation?

It's not easy to get permission to stay in Russia for 4 months. Are you sure that this has been (or is getting) taken care of?

Heh the medical issue is pretty easy.

JUst take what you may possibly need. Need a doc from your med provider as to what your current meds are That makes it legit. Done this 3 times but never been asked,.

All the best.

It's probably easy to find and very likely cheaper than in the west : google Цетиризин, there's a lot of it. Just in case take enough for 3 weeks, that's enough in case you don't find here (to get more shipped), but again that's extremely unlikely.
Go to a decent pay clinic (don't ever go to a free clinic, I think you could get sick just looking at one for too long) with someone if necessary. To help, you could get a document from your doctor explaining your condition and get that document translated.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not anticipating any problems, but its good to see what others have to say. I'll look into getting a document from my doctor. And, I like hearing that its probably cheaper to buy over there. Also good to know about the clinics, I'll keep that in mind.

As for the visa, its a student visa, so I imagine I should be fine.

Once again, thanks for the responses. I'm pretty glad I found this forum, I've been learning quite a bit about things I never would have thought about looking into. I think I have a better idea of what to expect, which I suppose is paradoxical with the truth that I have no idea what to expect.
