Hey guys,
I'm probably going to be in Russia (Saint Petersburg and Moscow) in October 1st to November 1st, and am wondering if this is a terrible mistake. Will it constantly be rainy or snowy? Will it be too cold to enjoy myself? I would be renting an apartment in Saint petersburg, for example, October 1st - November 1st. I would of course take a train to Moscow and such.

Thanks.

No, it probably won't constantly be raining nor snowing, but it might happen from time to time. Temperature may be about +10 Celcius, get down to +5 or even get warmer as +15. Don't forget about cold winds. But the weather is not so bad after all, there is certain pleasant atmosphere about autumn in St-Petersburg. The best days are certainly ones when the weather is dry and temperature is about +10.

I also think it's not a bad time to go. As long as you have a sweater and a jacket, you should be pretty comfortable. On cloudy or rainy days, it might feel a bit chilly, but sunny day shouldn't be too bad. Night and morning might be a bit chilly, because depending on which place you are staying, heater might not be turned on yet.

If you are renting an apartment, make sure to get your registration done. I guess if you got the apartment from a company, they'll take care for you, but don't forget. It's important.
