My qestions are fairly broad, however, I am attempting to get a basic idea concerning how I may go about doing some things that have always been dreams of mine. I am a young american 23 F and within the year will speak fluent Russian. After learning I hope to go and live in Russia for at least a year, hopefully more. I am wondering about the basics what I would need to do, how I go about getting a Russian visa and most of alll how I would go about making a living there. I dont have a city picked out and I dont really mind where I go. Thank you for your time.

Wow.. I thought I was the only 'young' girl who wanted to live in Russia.
I can probably answer some of your questions. I know a few other American girls/women who lived in Russia so they tell me alot of what I need to know. If you want I'd like to talk with you, it's rare to find girls that actually want to live there. So, if you'd like you can e-mail me: for_me_blue@yahoo.co.uk

Hi,
I would recommend you first of all to decide where you would like to be based, then find a place to live there -- preferable apartment, not a hotel.
Then you can get a Russian business visa (valid for 1 year) -- this is the longest you can have. To prolong it, you'll need to go to Baltics for a few days, apply for a new long visa, and then again you can come back to Russia. |
