Particularly as far as proof of intention to leave. I'm going to study at Moscow State University for amonth this summer. My fiance is then going to join me and we are going to go from Moscow to Kyiv to Volvograd and then to Turkey. We will both be flying in on what amounts to one way tickets.
Will I need to show proof of intention to leave if I am coming in on a student visa and will train tickets be enough to prove intention to leave. How about if we have tickets back to to the US leaving from another country?
What else will be required at the boarder besides the visa, proof of intention to exit and our passports?

Andrew,
Your Visa application and subsequent visa will cover Russia entry/exit. You'll probably get a migration card at the airport, which you'll need to keep part, and hand back when you depart. You will also be required to fill out a Customs Declaration, which will be stamped on entry and you have to keep that, because you have to fill out another when you leave ........and keep those Dollar/Rouble exchange receipts as well........
I can't answer for the Ukraine (Kiev), but in Turkey you have to pay for a visa before you get to passport control, stick it in your passport and then it is stamped.....It was $20.00 US last september...and it was about a serious a business as swallowing helium out of balloons........unlike the Russian passport/border control.........
