Hi,

we will be driving in a German car (brand and license plate) and quite a bit of luggage from Moscow to Kyiv - I wondered whether anyone had some experience to share on how long one needs to wait to cross the border to cross from Russia to Ukraine (I just know that coming into Russia can take almost forever (16hrs in Narva yesterday). Are there any possibilities to fasten the proces??

Thanks!

Provided you have your migration card and the temporary import certificate for the car, I think you will get into the Ukraine quicker. But there are so many border crossings, which one will you be using? Then we might be able to comment. Personally, I've not yet "done" the Ukraine but another member "chris rein" has.

Hi,

I don't think you will have to wait to long, last year I crossed the Ukraine-Russai border from Kiev towards Moscow, but both ways there were few cars. In total we used 1.5 hour to fix it all, even with border guards that were not that willing to work. I later crossed the Russian - Latvian border in 20 minutes!

I do have the experience that most of the time there are not that many people that cross the border at the end of the afternoon / beginning of the evening, it might be busier in the morning.

And the border from Ukraine towards Poland was very busy! (Again I was lucky to travel it the other way, from Poland towards Ukraine)
