USA	Posted: Mon Apr 03, 2006 9:46 am    Post subject: Where have all the vikings gone I had heard before Christians came to Russia soil,the were the ones who started the Slavics tribes,were Vikings.Where did the Vikings come from.There is a large group of tribes that live some where in Siberia,in underground hot springs.They have lived there for a couple of about 3,000 years.They do not come out fellowship with other races.They are called the 10 lost tribes.Anyway I have been studing for many years.Yours truely,Cosmossong

You have heard wrong. Slavs have their origin in tribes from the south: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavs Who had their origin in the proto-Slavs: http://www.azargoshnasp.net/history/Scythians/scythioric.htm Vikings, and viking influence came much later. In any event, Scandinavians have their origin from the proto-Indo-European peoples themselves, and originally would have had their origin in the steppes of Ukraine and the Caucasus. I believe what you are referring to is the poeople of Rus, who were Scandinavian Norsemen mixed with the Slavic tribes. It is important to understand that there is a difference between Norse and Slav. Although I'm not too sure about the 10 lost tribes you mention, but then I doubt any of their ancestors(if they were still around) do, either..
