this is a bit of a long shot, but i was wondering if anyone here is at all familiar with the industrial music scene in st petersburg (i've been told that there is a large one). i'm interested in proper, old school industrial music. none of that neo-nazi crap. being very familiar with the london scene, i can walk into an industrial club here and be fairly certain that no one (including the people in german uniforms and jackboots) is a nazi. any 'skinheads' are proper, old school, anti-racism skinheads. despite their appearance, most are really lovely, warm and fuzzy people who simply like to dress in a certain way. in russia, i'm not so sure that this is true.

in the four years that i've lived in london, i have never witnessed any sort of violence or similar unpleasantness in a club. i'd like to maintain that streak when i go to st petersburg.

any suggestions of websites, clubs, record shops, etc would be appreciated.
