Of course I have places that I want to visit, but I'm sure some have slipped by me. Obviously I'll be going to Red Square, the Kremlin and its museums, etc. but where else should I go in Moscow?
This weekend I'll likely visit at least one Tretyakov gallery, and I want to visit VDNKh soon as well, but what are some of your favorite places and, for those of you who "know" me, places you think I'd like to visit?
I want to set up a visit to that huge open-air aircraft museum outside of town, and I have to visit Tver to meet some people, but I've basically been limited in my "excursions" so far to things around Shabolovskaya, Universitet, Profsoyuznaya and Kurskaya.
Thanks in advance, as always. |

Personal favourite--the Battle of Borodino museum on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. You can see weapons, paintings etc. on the Battle of Borodino. The highlight is the 360 panaroma of the battle scene, so real that you'd feel you were there!
Ask for an English guide if you don't know this part of Russian history well. Entrance fee is 45rur for foreigners if I remember correctly. Nearest Metro is Kutuzovskaya. |

Perfect! I want to visit this place for sure, and I had completely forgotten about it! I should be able to pay the Russian price with my studencheskii bil'et (I hope), and I should be meeting enough Russians soon to make it worth my while (with English ability, I mean). I definitely like military museums, as I fancy myself a bit of an amateur military historian (although I read about far too many eras to ever learn as much as I should about any one in particular).
Do Subbota! (I'm pretty sure I misspelled it) |

Hey, tix is just 45rur for foreigners... and looks like that museum could do with a bit of extra cash.
If you wanna visit the place on a weekday before 2pm drop me a line! |
